Restrained Condemnation: Messages and Trends in Britain’s Muslim Brotherhood Review 

The British government’s December 17 release, "Muslim Brotherhood Review: Main Findings," conducted by a commission led by Sir John Jenkins, marks an important shift in British official position of the Muslim Brotherhood. Although it avoided making a final judgment on the Brotherhood and labeling it as a terrorist organization, the Review stressed that the Brotherhood has an ambiguous relationship with violent extremism, in terms of foundational ideology and organization. The Review also contained implicit warnings about the Brotherhood's "soft permeation" of society and the state in Britain.
