Possible Intervention: Scenarios for Western Anti-ISIS Intervention in Libya
ISIS's expansion in Libya and its use of the country for launching attacks on Western interests in Africa, coupled with fears that its militants may infiltrate into Europe disguised as refugees within the waves of migration, have prompted actions by the United States and Europe against the organization. These actions vary either by supporting the Libyan armed forces - following the state’s formation of the new national unity government - or through a combination of support and possible direct airstrikes against ISIS in Libya.
