Organizational Intervention: Causes and Implications of ISIS's Changing of Boko Haram Leader

ISIS's decision and orders to change the leader of the Nigerian Boko Haram group highlights the organization's bid to compensate for its huge losses sustained in Iraq and Syria, through tightening its ideological and organizational grip on one of the most important foreign franchises that seized large swathes of land in West Africa. Additionally, it reveals that ISIS may possibly utilize the change to enhance its communication with Boko Haram and its operators in Libya, where it suffered huge losses recently in the battle of Sirte city.
