The Ambassador of Iraq to the United Arab Emirates Dr. Raad Mohammed Al-Alusi made an introductory visit to Future for Advanced Research and Studies (FARAS) headquarters on Monday, 10 January 2017, where he was welcomed by Academic Director Dr. Mohamed Abdelsalam. 

Ambassador Al-Alusi was accompanied by Director-General of the Iraqi Embassy, Eman Jabr. 

Regional developments in the region and how the think tank is tackling them in its activities, publications, and seminars, were discussed at the meeting. The Iraqi envoy expressed particular interest in Trending Events, FARAS’ bi-monthly academic periodical, and the think tank's assessments.

The meeting also covered potential co-operation between FARAS and Iraqi-based academic research centers in areas of mutual interest. 

Ambassador Al-Alusi further expressed readiness to facilitate any visits by FARAS' administrative staff or researchers to Iraq and arranging any meetings that can contribute towards learning about the current situation in the country.
