Guarantees of Accord: Al-Sarraj Government...between support factors and barriers of control in Libya

Libya's Government of National Accord (GNA) headed by Fayez al-Sarraj, entered Tripoli "peacefully" on March 30, 2016, and exercised its powers. This was as a result of regional and international support, in addition to some local support in the country's capital. Nevertheless, the new government faces circumstantial impediments owing to the House of Representatives in Tobruk’s lack of confidence in the GNA. Other impediments include the Skhirat agreement and the security, economic and societal situation that all previous governments since the fall of the former regime, have failed to address.
