Future for Advanced Research and Studies (FARAS) hosted Mr. Mohammad Abbas Nagi, Iranian Affairs Expert and Editor-in-Chief of Mukhtarat Iraniya (Iranian Selections) magazine issued by Al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies (ACPSS), on Monday June 5, 2017. During the workshop, Nagi discussed the transformations in the Iranian domestic political scene, and the challenges facing Iran in its regional and international relations.
In this regard, Nagi presented the profound hurdles facing the Iranian political system at the current stage. The most prominent of which are the aging political elite, and the emergence of new political forces neither affiliated with the conservatives, nor the moderates. Another obstacle facing Iran is the rising aspirations of marginalized communities.
Finally, Nagi assessed the rising tensions with regional and international powers, and especially the US, and its implications on the nuclear deal with the P5+1.
